This handmade sterling silver necklace is pierced with an image of corn, long one of my favorite vegetables. No one really knows how and where corn, or as it is more often called, maize, came from. We do know that it is a sacred plant to many cultures. It is still the most widely grown crop in the U.S. The plant on this piece is being visited by two bees. The necklace is made from a single sheet of 20 guage sterling silver measuring approximately 1.25" x .75 (33mm x 15mm). I draw the image on and then pierce it before giving it a soft matte finish. I then attach it to an 18" sterling silver chain with a handmade wire wrap. The length of the necklace is optional. Precious and semi-precious gems can be added for an additional cost.
