Some pines grow tall by embracing the boulders below. Here in Western Maine most of the boulders are granite which are remnants of ancient mountains that were ripped from the bedrock and ground down by glaciers. They are often covered with lichen and moss and sprinkled with pine needles. The 7 dwarves variscite are a perfect match. I teeny mushrooms from behind the stones for fun. I like secrets.
I confess I have been taking these for a test drive-even sleeping with them on. They are light, comfy and have a nice swing to them.
They are one of a kind but I have a hoard of beautiful stones and love making custom jewelry so reach out to collaborate on a special pair for you.
To create these earrings I make the bezels and solder them to the recycled sterling silver backplates before drilling a teeny hole or holes into it and inserting the world's smallest saw blade. I am then able to cut out my illustration using a jeweler's saw. I finish the earrings by filing, sanding and oxidizing them so that they have a satiny-smooth, rustic-looking finish.
I want my jewelry to feel like a well loved treasure when you receive it-as if you pulled it from your mom, grandmother or a beloved auntie's jewelry box.
